LIFE SERVICES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteer Client Advocate: Our Volunteer Client Advocates help equip men and women be better parents, partners, and citizens through a wide range of curriculum and counseling topics. These include parenting, discipline, pregnancy options, loss recover, healthy relationships, group class instructors, men’s program, peer mentors, etc. Advocates provide one-on –one contact with clients in the office giving education, support, referrals, and ongoing consultation.
Shift: 3-4 hour shift once per week

First Steps Plus Advocate: Provide one-on –one contact with clients in the office assisting with the First Steps Plus parenting program – watching videos, discussion, and work sheets to help clients understand concepts and offer friendly support and spiritual guidance.
Shift: 3-4 hour shift once per week

First Steps Facilitator: Work with First Steps Coordinator to develop curriculum / program to offer as part of our 13 week parenting program. Topics include Infant massage, CPR and First Aid, Nutrition,Healthy Relationships, Building a routine, Breastfeeding, etc.

Support Group: Plan, coordinate and lead small weekly group meetings for women to offer fellowship, support, encouragement, and prayer.
Shift: Weekly 90 minute support group.

Post-Abortion Group Facilitator: A Caring Pregnancy Center’s offers women hope and an opportunity to heal through the pain and loss of a past abortion. Through a twelve week support group, trained volunteers facilitate the healing process in a team of three.
Shift: Weekly 90 minute support group.

Group Class Facilitator: Train for and facilitate one of our large group classes such as The Diamond Standard, First Steps, 24:7 Dad, etc.
Shift: Weekly 2 hour class.

MEDICAL SERVICES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteer Patient Advocate: Our Volunteer Patient Advocates help women to make informed decisions about their pregnancies through listening to women’s circumstances and needs. Volunteers concentrate on the feelings surrounding a woman’s pregnancy and offer information and resources that will help her make a decision that respects both her life and the life of her unborn child.

Shift: 3-4 hour shift once per week

Volunteer Ultrasound Sonographer: A Caring Pregnancy Center’s medical volunteers perform limited ultrasounds for our clients. Please contact us if you have sonography experience and any of the following credentials: MD, PA, NP, RN, RDMS.

Shift: 3-4 hour shift once per week

SUPPORT SERVICES VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

General volunteers come alongside the staff of A Caring Pregnancy Center by providing additional support for office, event and community education activities. Training is provided as needed per project.

Board of Directors: ACPC is governed by a local, volunteer Board of Directors. Learn more about how you can serve on our leadership team here. The board provides leadership, support, and assistance to volunteers and staff at ACPC. They meet once per month and serve on at least one subcommittee. All members assist with fundraising efforts and participate in two main fundraisers each year.

Volunteer Coordinator: Develop a system for finding, recruiting, training, developing, and retaining volunteers. Process incoming applications, schedule interviews, schedule orientations, and manage volunteer hours. Previous experience appreciated.

AssureMe Stocker: Restock pregnancy tests and drug detection kits in AssureMe vending machines located in 15 local businesses around Pueblo. Must have reliable transportation and knowledge of the Pueblo community.

Grants Assistant: Assist the Development officer with researching grant opportunities which fit ACPC’s need and mission. Assist in pulling statistics, data, and stories pertinent to the foundations’ request. Proofread and help edit grant submissions.

Communications Assistant: Assist the Creative Manager with our communications plan. Write for blog posts, newsletters, thank you letters, e-blasts, and other communications from ACPC to our donor base.

Prayer Coordinator: Collect prayer requests from Life Services and Clinic director, compile the requests and send out to the prayer chain. Follow up as needed to update the chain of outcomes and further needs. Recruit members for the prayer chain. Send push notifications on ACPC’s mobile app by contacting the app developer as needed.

Boutique Manager: ACPC needs a faithful weekly volunteer who can Sort, Wash and Dry, and Store incoming boutique donations for our Material Support programs at ACPC. Must be able to work independently, handle stairs and lift heavy bags/boxes on occasion.

Church Point Person: Act as the contact person in your church who represents ACPC during specific times and events throughout the year by informing your church congregation about the needs and programs at ACPC. This can be through a church bulletin, newsletter, social media outlet, or public announcement. Point persons are expected to attend two special kickoff events each year.

Prayer Team: Receive weekly and emergency prayer requests via email or monthly by mail. Pray for specific needs of ACPC, its clients, and volunteers. Monthly prayer letters may be mailed to warriors and in the case of emergency needs, the prayer chain is activated by the Prayer Coordinator.

Boutique Aid: Assist the Boutique Manager with duties such as sorting, laundering, and organizing, incoming donations for use in our material support programs. Must be able to work independently, handle stairs and lift heavy bags/boxes on occasion.

Event Host: Host small groups to share the ministry and vision of ACPC. Small groups can be from churches, bible studies, civic organizations, community businesses, and partner agencies.

Handiworkers: Sew or make layette items, wash and sort donated clothing / diapers, help with building maintenance projects around ACPC, help with lawn care and landscaping, clean the building offices, etc.

Fundraising & Special Events: Help organize and coordinate fundraising events or create one of your own to bring awareness of ACPC services or to raise funds to support our ministry. Would require training to learn about ACPC services, programs, and philosophy.

Handiworkers: Sew or make layette items, wash and sort donated clothing / diapers, help with building maintenance projects around ACPC, help with lawn care and landscaping, clean the building offices, etc.

Fundraising & Special Events: Help organize and coordinate fundraising events.

Sometimes volunteers might have special skills or talents they’d like to share with our organization. We are always willing to discuss your ideas as well. Examples could be interior design, legislative prowess, blog writing, graphic design, etc.
