Published May 28, 2020
We have great news!
ACPC will begin operating at full capacity beginning June 1st!
Though we are very much excited to fully open our doors once again, we will be implementing policies to continue to keep our patients, clients, volunteers, and staff safe.
Policies are as follows:
- Pre-screening for COVID-19 Symptoms.
- Maintaining 6 foot social distancing.
- Sanitizing frequently.
- The Clinic will only allow 1 guest at a time.
- Life Services and Diamond Standard Workshops will begin meeting physically and will be kept under 10 people with a virtual option still available.
- One on One mentoring will continued to be offered via video chat.
We appreciate your cooperation during this time as we get things up and running.
Covid-19 RESPONSE
Published March 26, 2020
The heightened anxiety our culture is facing due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) only amplifies opportunities for our ACPC team to share the peace that comes with knowing our Savior. Despite the many necessary restrictions to everyday life, our priority is to remain available for the women, men and families who need our services. Even now, our life-affirming compassionate care is vital to so many in our city.
People in our city are still facing unexpected pregnancies and desperately need hope, care and support. Thanks to your generosity, and the courage of our team, our doors remain open to those in need. Even in the midst of crisis, what happens in our pregnancy center saves and transforms lives every day. After speaking with both local and state health departments, several sister centers across Colorado, and our affiliating bodies, we are confident that our decision to continue serving is not only justified but encouraged. Our staff is committed to remain open in order to provide a hope-filled alternative.
We continue to do our very best with the information we have to keep our staff and clients as safe and healthy as possible. For our center to remain open, here are a few notable adjustments we’ve made:
We are pre-screening clients by phone and in person by asking a series of questions related to COVID-19. Clients, or any guests with them who are exhibiting symptoms, are being referred to appropriate outside healthcare professionals and asked to reschedule their appointment with us.
We are also screening staff each day for symptoms and are sending any who present with fever home. We have adjusted our staff meeting times and locations to allow for social distancing of the staff. We are encouraging those who are able to work from home to do so. We are also increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting.
To reduce risk to our pregnancy center staff, we are focusing our efforts on clients with the most urgent needs. Our ultrasound appointments are being limited to Thursdays only for the next several weeks. To continue to be there for our parenting clients, we have moved our one-on-one coaching to “telecoaching” via video or phone and are utilizing online curriculum where ever possible. We have also moved our group sessions to online "Zoom" style meetings; please pray as we work through the technological challenges of this. Clients with material needs are being allowed to pick up prepackaged bags by appointment. We are also offering additional items such as baby food and wipes for those in need.
While we love giving tours of our center where God does amazing things every day, to be cautious we are suspending all tours and one on one donor meetings for now. If you are interested in scheduling a visit, we look forward to hosting you in the weeks to come!
The Walk for Life remains planned for June 6th, whether through our in-person event or as a virtual event, if necessary. We are working on creative ideas, while praying we can assemble live. Lord willing, it can be a celebration of life and lives returning to some level of normalcy. If you would like to register and begin collecting your pledges you may do so at acpcpueblo.org/fundraisingevents.
I am proud of the level of peace throughout our staff in the face of this uncertainty. Would you please pray for us as we continue to monitor the latest guidance from health officials and make further adjustments as necessary? Know that we are praying for you and our city as well.
If you wish to support us financially as we continue to be there for clients in need, even in the face of the Coronavirus, we would be grateful. You can do so by clicking HERE.
It's because of your support that we're able to provide hope and help to moms and families in our city -- even during a pandemic. We challenge you to think about how you can help those most in need during this time. Your support of ACPC ensures that the families we serve, some of whom have now lost jobs, receive the fundamental resource support -- like formula, diapers, and clothes -- that they need right now. Together, we can continue to cultivate a community that values life through the love of Christ.
Our prayer and our goal through these uncertain times is to live out Isaiah 41:10: Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
No matter what we're facing, our God is in control. When our clients come to us facing an unplanned pregnancy, we compassionately reassure them of the resources and support available to them and point them to the eternal hope to be found in Christ. The same principles apply to uncertainty in our modern world - our God has given us wisdom and His eternal peace to sustain us. We pray that you are covered in that peace today!
Grace on you all,
Tamra Axworthy
Executive Director
