A Caring Pregnancy Center hosted its largest Walk for Life event to date on Saturday, June 4th, drawing 228 registered walkers this year. Participants raised $56,102 from sponsors and donors, benefitting ACPC community services, which include pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, parenting support, pregnancy education, mentorship, and more.

What is the Walk for Life?

The Walk for Life is an annual event hosted by A Caring Pregnancy Center. It is a positive way for members of the community to actively demonstrate their support for the sanctity of human life. The Walk for Life is our 2nd largest fundraiser, next to our Annual Fundraising Banquet. Fundraisers such as the Walk for Life enable us to offer our services to the community at no cost to our clients.

Elevating Life in Pueblo

Hundreds of walkers gathered at Mineral Palace Park in custom-made ‘Elevate Life’ themed T-shirts. The festivities kicked off with an introduction from ACPC Board of Directors' President, Tom Welte, who proudly announced that ACPC has seen an increase of 41% in clients compared to the same time period last year (Jan - May 31st), and that our long-awaited Center remodel is nearly complete thanks to numerous grants and generous financial support from donors and the community.

In his closing remarks, Welte thanked all those who participated, saying, "All of the work we do, and all of the achievements we celebrate, are due to people like you who give and encourage others to give. You have worked hard for this cause, and today we thank you for partnering with ACPC to Elevate Life."

Our Top Walkers and Sponsors

All together, we had 228 registered walkers, backed by an incredible 663 sponsors, with numerous others coming along to join the fun. Each individual walker and team worked hard over several months to raise money.

Our ACPC staff, board, and volunteers are always eager participants in our events, and while they are certainly worthy of praise, we’d like to honor our friends in the community who work so hard to help women and families in need. We had several walkers deserving of recognition this year. Congratulations and well done!

Thank you for Making a Difference

We’d like to extend our thanks to the local vendors who joined us at this year’s Walk for Life, including Shay the Fairy, Mr. Magic, and the CSU-Pueblo Nursing Students. These lovely vendors delighted children with fun face-painting, balloon animals, and kept our walkers cool with cold water! Additionally, we’d also like to thank Pastor, Bryan Kelsen of Christ Church Pueblo West for praying over our event; Pastor, Rob Hernandez of Highest Praise Fellowship for blowing the annual shofar to signal the start of the event; and all of the A Caring Pregnancy Center board, staff, and volunteers who helped keep everything running smoothly. And last but not least, we’d like to thank everyone in attendance for coming out and supporting the A Caring Pregnancy Center in its mission to help women and families during their most difficult times.

Each year, more and more people are turning to A Caring Pregnancy Center for their pregnancy care needs. We receive hundreds of new visitors a year, and the huge increase in walkers shows that more people are hearing about the great services we offer. Overall, the Walk for Life 2022 was a huge success, and we appreciate all who participated.
